Honourable President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday evening (24 May 2020) announced that the whole of South Africa will enter Level 3 of the lockdown from 01 June 2020, which will ease a number of the regulations. The Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) is therefore pleased to announce that our offices will be opening on Monday 01 June 2020.
The safety of our Staff, Clients, Council Members and Public at large is of paramount interest, we therefore will not encourage any “walk ins” for the first week (01-05 June 2020), this will allow us time to prepare our premises and ensure that all mechanisms are in place to create a risk free, safe and conducive work environment for all.
We will however operate with a limited staff component whist on the same token, striving to provide quality service delivery. We will still continue to operate within a virtual environment and work remotely to administer meeting as well as hearings. We look forward to welcoming you to our offices once again

Following the identification of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, Hubei Province of Cina, Chinese authorities reported on the 17th January 2020 that the disease was caused by a virus which has not previously been identified in humans. This novel virus is called COVID-19. This is not the first time we have a coronavirus outbreak. In 2003, a new coronavirus emerged leading to the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak. In 2012, the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) was caused by a coronavirus associated with transmission from camels.
Most people who become infected experience mild illness and recover but it can be more severe for others.
