The combination of the ‘Circle’ with colours indicating the four main objectives of the PSCBC

CONFLICT – small black ball

The black ball shows the origin for the existence of the Public Service Co–ordinating Bargaining Council.

Black is the absence of ‘light’ (or hope) as well as the colour indicating negative emotions. Fortunately with the PSCBC, reasoning and bargaining are the tools to resolve conflict with labour relations’ issues in the public service.

RESOLUTION – small red circle

Resolutions are the end result of negotiations that concludes, supervises and enforces collective agreements.

The traditional bold, warm (-blooded) and daring colour red that (probably) indicates the amount of ‘enthusiasm’ and passion that characterised the atmosphere surrounding the road to agreement.

The small red circle indicating a group of people sharing the same objective – finding solutions for the various labour disputes.

NEGOTIATION – smaller green circle

Negotiation is the action(s) that encompasses the bargaining and agreements. It is the circle that touches the other three divisions and pulls them together.

Green has traditionally a soothing quality but also reflects freshness and vigor – that which gives the PSCBC the ability to negotiate. It gives the PSCBC the green light to carry on with their positive mission.

The circle indicates the process of events to encompass the desire to achieve.

LABOUR PEACE – large, outside blue circle

The PSCBC ultimate goal revolves around labour peace and the effect it has on each and every one in public service.

Blue is traditionally the colour of stability, reliability and prosperity, releasing a calming effect. The blueprint of the carefully thought-out scheme and mechanism for labour disputes.

The large circle shows the major sphere of influence and effect of positive negotiations. The circular movement indicating the quest for continuous betterment and understanding. The route of reasoning that allows for the starting point to be the end as well, indicating that a solution has been reached through the united stand of all concerned.
