Mr Mompati Jones Galorale currently occupies the position of Chief Negotiator for the Public Service and is permanently appointed at the level of Chief Director within the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA), a role held since February 2024. He also currently serves as the Vice Chairperson Employer at the PSCBC. He was initially seconded to the DPSA in February 2022, after serving as Director responsible for Education Labour Relations and Conditions of Service at the Department of Basic Education.
He is an accredited Mediator, having completed professional training in workplace negotiations, commercial mediation skills, and workplace mediation skills with Conflict Dynamics Dispute Resolution Services. He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of education, employee relations and organising, negotiations, labour relations, and dispute management.
A former unionist, Mr Galorale is a strong proponent of labour peace, social justice, and social security, and firmly believes in the power of dialogue as an effective dispute resolution mechanism. He currently serves as a member of the Public Service Co-ordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) Executive Committee (EXCO) and Finance Committee (FINCOM), and has served on the governance structures of both the Education Labour Relations Council (ELRC) and the PSCBC for more than ten years.
His academic qualifications include, among others, a Master’s degree in Labour Law (LLM), a Postgraduate Diploma in Industrial Relations (PGDIR), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA).
